Sun dried Clothing, a luxury? :)

For those of you who had been living in apartments , will sure understand if i say , drying clothes on the clothesline  outside your house would be so exciting ! :) or those of you who go through winters, will also appreciate the crispy sun dried clothes.

I realized how much i missed opening the gate, to walk out with the pail of washed clothes, and place it beneath the clothesline, to hang the clothes on the line and walk back inside with the emptied pail. hahahaha, sounds weird i know. But just doing that seemed like luxury once i moved to a landed house after 11 years living in an apartment. It was funny how we reacted when Nantha and i spotted the space at the back of our house where we could dry our clothes. " yay ! we can dry clothes at our backyard !!! "  :)  thats when i truly realized how how much i missed doing that!!! Then even more fun is, walking out to collect the dried clothes. All looking crisp and fresh !

As in the apartment, though we had direct sun light at our small balcony, it only lasted till about 1pm, then the sun goes above the building. It was the strong wind that usually dried the clothes. And since i had my tiny garden at the balcony, i had to be creative to be able to hang my washed clothes on the grill so i have enough space for all my clothes. Also had to plan what i wash each time, as i cant put blankets and towels together as it would take too much of the space.

But the thing is , i never felt it to be difficult or inconvenient while we were at the apartment. I just made use of the space i had and didnt complain at all. I guess human beings are made that way. We just get used to what we have and dont think much of it until something changes.

Though people have dryers nowadays, its still fun to do it for real. Dont you think? Hehe , maybe its just me. I love simple ways of life ! For it seems real ! And it brings back the sweet moments of childhood when we use to help our mom, to pick the clothes from the pail for her to clip it on the line or running out after her when it rains to pick the dried clothes before it gets drenched ! Those are the most joyful moments to me :):)

So, for those of you who already live in landed houses, do enjoy drying your clothes and please remember, even drying clothes outside could be luxury to many :)

Have a sunny day all !! :)
